Richard is an award-winning, internationally published photographer. His photo credits include Wired magazine, Outside magazine, Honolulu magazine and the New York Times. Richard’s photographs also grace the cover of several books. Richard has a doctorate in astronomy, and is also an expert astrophotographer. His professional training has provided him with broad technical expertise in digital imaging.

Whenever possible, he prefers to shoot outdoors, where the breathtaking Hawaii scenery provides an elegant and natural background for photographs. Richard likes to take advantage of the best lighting conditions that mother nature provides.



We use professional grade digital single-lens reflex cameras that yield image resolution similar to medium format film. We use a variety of professional quality lenses and we always bring backup equipment. We edit photographs for exposure and color when needed.



Richard lives in Kailua with his wife, who is also a professional photographer and serves as a second photographer at weddings. They have lived on Oahu for 20 years and would be happy to share their expertise of island locations with destination brides. Richard enjoys travel and is available for photographing destination weddings.
